Oblate Day: October 18, 2014

oblates-in-chapelMake plans to attend this year’s Oblate retreat featuring a presentation by Sister Edith Bogue, OSB, St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth, Minn. Sister Edith entered St Scholastica Monastery, Duluth in 1999 after spending the first half of her life as a social worker, graduate student, and teacher of traditional English and American dance.  Today she teaches sociology and statistics at their college, while directing the community’s Oblate program.  “In my spare time, I love to read, travel when I can, and do nerdy things like take classes for fun,” Sister Edith says. “My favorite colors are purple and green and favorite food is Japanese.  Right now, I’m in the midst of finally reading the Harry Potter books for the first time!”
